River, city or hills: choosing your view

The hotel describes three outlooks across its rooms. Here is which category is described with which view, and how to make sure your booking says so.

Ask anyone who has stayed on the Riverbank and they will tell you the room matters less than the window. Eos sits on Festival Drive with the river to the north and the city grid rising to the south and south-east. The hotel’s room pages use three outlooks — river, city and hills — and attach them to categories in a way that is easy to miss when you are booking quickly.

What you see from the river side

The river side looks over the Torrens and the parkland of Elder Park, with the Riverbank footbridge crossing towards the Oval. It is the side for match nights and for early runs: the hotel’s personal trainer service mentions runs along the River Torrens, and you can plan yours by looking out of the window. The river side also faces the Riverbank’s paths and lawns, where people walk to and from the Oval and the Festival Centre on event nights.

What you see from the city and hills side

The south-east looks back across the grid of the city centre towards the Adelaide Hills. It is the calmer outlook in mood, with a morning light that suits slow breakfasts on an Oasis balcony. Business travellers may prefer it. The hotel does not publish how many rooms face each way.

How to make sure you get it

Read the category name

“River View” in the room name is the only wording that commits the hotel to the river. A plain Allure King may face anywhere.

Write it in the request

If you send a request through us, choose the room in the form and add the outlook to the notes. We ask for it by name.

Ask before you pay

With pre-paid rates you cannot change or cancel under the hotel’s terms, so settle the view before payment.

Balconies, briefly

Balconies are named for the Allure River View with Balcony, the Oasis suites and the Grace Villa. The hotel’s booking terms forbid smoking on any room balcony, with cleaning fees from $500 to $5,000 depending on the category. Nothing in the published material says balconies are closed in bad weather, but Adelaide’s summer afternoons can be fierce; a balcony facing south-east is in shade sooner than one facing north.

See every category on the rooms page.

Ask our desk to hold a room at Eos

Tell us your dates and the room you have in mind. Our booking desk checks availability and the current rate with the hotel or its booking partner and replies by email. We never ask for card details, and a request is not a booking until you accept the confirmed offer. We are paid a commission by the hotel or booking partner only when a request turns into a confirmed stay — how that works.

Thank you — the request is with our desk. Expect an email reply; nothing is booked or charged until you accept an offer.
