Plain-English privacy

Privacy notice

We collect only what you type into the request form, use it only to answer your request, and share it only with the hotel or one booking partner to check availability. No cookies, no analytics.

This notice explains how Riverbank Adelaide (riverbankadelaide.com) handles personal information. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 as a matter of practice. Last updated 1 November 2026.

What we collect

When you send the room request form, we receive your name, your email address, your phone number if you choose to give it, the number of guests, your check-in and check-out dates, the room type and purpose you selected, any notes you write, the page you sent the form from and your consent tick. Our server also sees the technical details any website receives — your IP address and browser type — in short-lived logs used for security and to limit automated abuse of the form.

We do not ask for, and do not want, card numbers, passport numbers or other identity documents. Please do not put them in the notes.

Why we collect it

To answer you

We use your details to check availability and rates for your dates and to reply by email or, if you prefer, by phone.

To check with the hotel

We share your name, dates, guest numbers and room preference with the hotel or one booking partner, only to check and hold availability for you.

To keep a record

If a request becomes a booking, we keep a record so that the commission we are owed can be reconciled.

What we do not do

We do not sell your information, add you to a marketing list or send newsletters. We do not set cookies and do not use analytics or advertising trackers. There are no third-party scripts on our pages.

Maps from Google

On the home page, the map loads from Google Maps only after you press the button to show it. On the arrival page, a Google map is embedded and loads when that part of the page comes into view. When a Google map loads, Google receives your IP address and may set its own cookies under its own privacy policy. Links that open Google Maps in a new tab work the same way. If you prefer not to share anything with Google, use the written directions instead.

Who processes data for us

The site is hosted on a DigitalOcean server in Sydney, Australia, and is served through Cloudflare, which handles the connection between your browser and our server and protects the form from abuse. Email sent to hello@riverbankadelaide.com is forwarded by Cloudflare’s email routing to our mailbox. These providers process data on our behalf for those purposes only. Some of them operate outside Australia.

How long we keep it

We keep request details for as long as we need them to answer the request and, if it becomes a booking, to reconcile commission — normally no longer than 24 months. Server logs are kept for a short time and then deleted.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by writing to hello@riverbankadelaide.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and its date first.

Ask our desk to hold a room at Eos

Tell us your dates and the room you have in mind. Our booking desk checks availability and the current rate with the hotel or its booking partner and replies by email. We never ask for card details, and a request is not a booking until you accept the confirmed offer. We are paid a commission by the hotel or booking partner only when a request turns into a confirmed stay — how that works.

Thank you — the request is with our desk. Expect an email reply; nothing is booked or charged until you accept an offer.
