Facts about the building, nothing more
The gaming floor in the old railway station
Eos shares the SkyCity Adelaide complex with a casino that occupies the heritage railway station building on North Terrace. This page sets out where it is and the rules around it — nothing more.
We are a hotel guide. We describe the casino because it shares the building with Eos and because guests ask how the two connect, not to encourage anyone to gamble. There is no gambling on this site and nothing here should be read as a suggestion to visit the gaming floor.
Where it is
The casino is in the Adelaide railway station building on North Terrace. Wikipedia, which we treat as a secondary source, records that the casino opened in December 1985 inside the heritage-listed station, whose sandstone neo-classical building was completed in 1928 and whose domed Marble Hall, once the main waiting room, is now part of the casino. SkyCity says its casino spans two levels. Eos was added on the Festival Plaza side during the redevelopment that opened at the end of 2020, and has its own driveway on Festival Drive and its own concourse.
What is there
SkyCity’s casino page describes table games and gaming machines across the two levels, private gaming rooms and a members’ programme. We do not list games, jackpots or member benefits. Three food and drink venues sit in or beside the gaming areas — Chandelier Bar in the Marble Hall, Central Café next to the main gaming floor and Xpress on it — and are covered on our dining page.
Age and ID
18 or older
SkyCity Adelaide states that you must be 18 years or older to enter any gaming area, and that it strictly enforces the age requirement.
Photo ID on request
Accepted: a current Australian driver licence, an Australian proof-of-age card or Victorian or Tasmanian keypass, a digital licence or proof-of-age card from SA, NSW or Victoria, or a current passport.
Children
Restaurants outside the gaming area cater for all ages. Leaving children unattended to enter a gaming area is forbidden; SkyCity says it calls police where negligence is suspected and may bar the adult.
Opening hours
SkyCity does not publish the casino’s opening hours on the pages we read on 1 November 2026, so we do not print any. Bars in the building keep their own hours; the latest is Chandelier Bar, listed until 4am or 5am depending on the day.
Who regulates it
Gambling in South Australia is licensed by Consumer and Business Services, where the Liquor and Gambling Commissioner sits. In June 2026 the Commissioner announced a non-binding heads of agreement under which SkyCity Adelaide would pay a $21 million penalty and adopt a series of governance and compliance measures, including phasing out cash transactions over $4,999 (CBS announcement). A final agreement was described as expected in the following months.
