The festival calendar, from the Riverbank

Adelaide calls itself the festival state, and Eos sits beside the Festival Centre. These are the dates we could confirm on the organisers’ own websites — and only those.

The concierge page at Eos describes South Australia as “the festival state” and links to the state tourism events calendar. That is no marketing stretch: from January to March the city runs one big event into the next, and for a few weeks in late February and March three major festivals overlap. If you want a bed within walking distance of the Riverbank in those weeks, the time to ask is now.

Every date below was read on the organiser’s own site on 1 November 2026. Organisers change programmes; check the link before you book travel. We list no event we could not confirm.

The Fringe: five weeks of everything

The Adelaide Fringe runs from 19 February to 21 March 2027. Its shows are spread across venues all over the city, and many of them finish late. For an Eos guest the appeal is the walk home: when the last show ends near midnight, the river path and North Terrace bring you back without a taxi queue. Five weeks gives you room to pick a quieter weekday stretch rather than the opening and closing weekends.

The Adelaide Festival: the big stage

The 2027 Adelaide Festival runs from 26 February to 14 March. The organiser’s homepage promises 17 days and 54 events, including ten Australian exclusives, seven world premieres and twelve Australian premieres, and notes that a small number of shows open their seasons before Friday 26 February. The programme was revealed in late October. Among the listings is Oedipus, created by Robert Icke after Sophocles, a Sydney Theatre Company and Adelaide Festival production at the Festival Theatre from 10 to 14 March. The Festival Theatre is part of the Adelaide Festival Centre, the neighbour of Eos on Festival Drive.

Book a show, then a table

Madame Hanoi, The Kitchen and iTL all list pre-theatre or pre-show dining. Book dinner for the time your show allows, not the other way round.

Mind the overlap

From 26 February to 14 March the Fringe and the Festival run together, and WOMADelaide lands in the middle. The city is at its fullest.

Ask about blackout dates

Hotel packages on the Eos site carry blackout or close-out dates. Peak festival weekends are the likely ones.

WOMADelaide

WOMADelaide returns to Botanic Park/Tainmuntilla from 5 to 8 March 2027, its 35th year, with music, arts and dance from more than 30 countries across eight stages. The first line-up announcements include Underworld, Madness, Leon Bridges, Tinariwen and Fatoumata Diawara. Botanic Park is at the eastern end of North Terrace beyond the Botanic Garden; the city tram along North Terrace stops close to the garden’s main gate. The organiser has already published its next two dates: 10–13 March 2028 and 9–12 March 2029.

Tour Down Under

The Santos Tour Down Under runs from 16 to 24 January 2027. The organiser says that in 2027 men and women will race on the same course, on the same day and over the same distance, which it describes as a first for any race. Stages leave the city for the surrounding regions, so check the stage guide on the official site for where each day starts and finishes.

Cricket and concerts at the Oval

Adelaide Oval’s own calendar on 1 November 2026 showed a concert by Robbie Williams on 7 November, a men’s one-day international against England on 15 November, a WBBL match on 20 November, Sheffield Shield fixtures, the men’s Test against New Zealand from 17 to 21 December, and Adelaide Strikers home games in the BBL on 23 and 31 December and 6, 12 and 16 January. The Adelaide Oval page explains the walk and the Game Day Entrance.

What this means for your request

If your dates touch any of the weeks above, tell us the event in the request form. It changes what we look for: a river-side room for a Test match, late check-out after a closing-night show, or a room for four during WOMADelaide. We cannot get you tickets — buy those from the organisers — but we can make sure the bed is sorted.

Ask our desk to hold a room at Eos

Tell us your dates and the room you have in mind. Our booking desk checks availability and the current rate with the hotel or its booking partner and replies by email. We never ask for card details, and a request is not a booking until you accept the confirmed offer. We are paid a commission by the hotel or booking partner only when a request turns into a confirmed stay — how that works.

Thank you — the request is with our desk. Expect an email reply; nothing is booked or charged until you accept an offer.
